Animatronic Scrooge McDuck is a supporting character from Epic Mickey 2.5. He is an animatronic created by The Mad Doctor as an assistant and bodyguard, although Animatronic Donald wanted him as a line of defence against the Blotling army. During the events of Epic Mickey 2.5, The Mad Doctor asks Mickey to find him in Mickeyjunk Mountain, as he holds the knowledge to repair the Notilus after it was severely damaged by the quakes.
Personality[]
Animatronic Scrooge shares a similar personality to the classic Scrooge McDuck, with minor differences based on experience. For example, he is easy to anger, and is prone to outbursts, but can remain collected when he needs to be. Along with this, he has an eye for money, preferably E-Tickets and has a penchant for hoarding and adventuring across the various sections of Wasteland. Finally, he cares for those close to him, although getting close to him is notoriously difficult as he is not easily impressed.
Appearance[]
Structurally, Animatronic Scrooge looks similar to Animatronic Donald, although due to constant maintenance from The Mad Doctor and more knowledge on how to repair himself, his chassis is less damaged and he isn’t missing an eye. Along with this, he dresses himself in a more “posh” manner and is wearing the traditional clothes of Scrooge McDuck.
In Epic Mickey 2.5[]
During the events of Epic Mickey 2.5 you learn that The Mad Doctor had created one more animatronic that you previously were unaware of, known as Animatronic Scrooge McDuck. You are tasked with finding him in Mickeyjunk Mountain, as he is the only available person with the knowledge to fully repair the Notilus and raise it out of the depths of the Lagoon. After this, he remains with Animatronic Donald in Bog Easy, also initiating a variety of side quests ranging from menial tasks to a monumental adventure, which slowly helps you gain his trust, leading to a mysterious reward.
Biography[]
Animatronic Scrooge was first thought of by Animatronic Donald, who had realised that Bog Easy was defenceless if the Beetleworx were ever compromised, and suggested creating an Animatronic version of Scrooge McDuck to fill the role. While The Mad Doctor didn’t care for using his resources to protect Bog Easy, he was intrigued by the idea and he decided to create him as an assistant and bodyguard instead. During this time, Scrooge helped with managing the Mickeyjunk factories and combatting the Blotlings who descended from the Jug. At some point, shortly before The Mad Doctor’s betrayal, he had been plunged into the Thinner Seas by a group of dangerous Blotlings. After this, he had managed to climb out of the seas, although it took him several weeks and by the time of his escape, he was unable to find The Mad Doctor and had resorted to becoming an adventurer instead of settling down like the rest of the various Animatronic personas. Many villains had feared him after hearing tales of his clashes with people such as Animatronic Hook or his hand in shutting down various factories, although many dismissed him as a myth. One notable adventure is his crusade against Madame Leona, who he believed to be villanous after seeing the terrifying nature of Lonesome Manor. After learning the truth, he refused to visibly accept it and resorted to keeping her as an enemy. Aside from that, he’s only failed one other time, when he was harassed and beaten by a group of Bunny Children. Eventually, the events of Epic Mickey 2.5 take place, he is located and he decides to settle down.
